Fellow Tea Party Patriots:
As you all know by now, the State of Arizona has passed a new law directing police officers to investigate the immigration status of any person who they have lawfully stopped, detained or arrested where there is a reasonable suspicion that the individual is in the U.S. illegally.
Arizona's passage of this new law has brought the state heavy criticism from certain civil libertarian groups, from certain Hispanic and open-borders activist groups, and various and sundry activist groups on the left. These left-wing groups have called for a BOYCOTT of the entire state and its businesses.
In response to the boycott, a coalition of center-right and conservative groups, led by Dr. Gina Loudon, has called for a BUYcott campaign to support Arizona. Details of the BUYcott are posted here:
http://drginaloudon.com/general/patriots-launch-an-arizona-buycott/
A group of tea party patriots, including members of Dallas Tea Party, are organizing a rally in Phoenix on May 29th:
http://standwitharizona.org/3448/
The questions are these:
1. Should Dallas Tea Party officially support the Arizona BUYcott campaign in support of the State of Arizona?
2. Should Dallas Tea Party officially support and endorse a Rally in Phoenix on May 29th in support of Arizona?
Please VOTE and COMMENT below.

Also, your poll totals are a bit goofy -- they add up to 102%, I guess that is one way to slant the desired outcome.
The problem is not immigration, but THE WELFARE STATE. No American has a right to a job or to make his neighbor speak his language. If we weren't paying for illegal immigrants' welfare, this would be a non-issue. By attacking the illegal immigrant, you are missing the real villain while making an enemy of someone who you should respect (the person who wants to come here and WORK), and thus you are hurting your rights as Americans.
Supporting free immigration while attacking the welfare state is the only choice consistent with individual rights.
If you wish to attack this issue from a right to hire standpoint, then you should concern yourself with minimum wage requirements that limit a business' ability to hire workers at a rate commensurate with the value of the work they perform.
Unlike most business owners that really know what's right, you are a poster-boy for a very selfish business man. You are symptomatic of what is truly wrong with this country (profits above integrity)
Hire the poor Legal Mexican, fool.
If you are a businessman, I hope someone knows you and sends ICE over for a visit.
America is totally FOR (LEGAL) immigration but against ILLEGAL immigration. GET in line and do it LEGALLY. My wife did and it took a year, $$$, a lot of paperwork, interviews, criminal background check, and a complete physical. She got a 2-year temp residency card and with her time and good behavior after two years, more $$$ and paperwork and interviews got a permanent (10-year) greencard. It's not easy but it RIGHT and doesn't break our laws. I wish TX had the bollocks to do the same as AZ.
The FEDS have conveniently turned their back on their responsibility (the Dems want the votes & the Repubs want the labor) because we h

Those replying to your post with vitriol quite obviously did not even bother to read it or attempt to understand its underlying premise.
Completely dismantle the welfare state; stop acting as the world's social workers, policemen and proselytizing evangelists; decriminalize drugs; restore individual freedom, personal responsibility/accountability and the "illegal immigration problem" (as well as all the current economic chaos) instantly disappears.
We cease to be A country without BORDERS, A COMMON LANGUAGE AND CULTURE! WHY CAN'T YOU SEE THAT.
While I tend to agree with you theoretically, we do not live in a theoretical world. The real world in which we live requires that we have secure borders and controlled citizenship.
If America is ever going to get back to her previous greatness, we are going to have to bite the bullet and make some perhaps distasteful choices. Cut spending until it really hurts (see Greece), raise taxes (in a FAIR way) to pay for our previous profligate ways, and concentrate our energies towards what%u2019s good for the country and our actual citizens.
Perhaps our grandchildren might then have a prayer of developing the society of which you dream.
Homeland Security was formed under the distorted guise of protecting Americans from more 9/11's. Ha. They can't even keep someone from entering the US without a passport on a Plane from Europe and then reportedly trying to catch his pants on fire.
Wake up people. The Arizona bill will take away more of your few freedoms.
The ONLY action that will slow or stop illegals from entering America improperly is the HALT of the MANY welfare programs that are bankrupting the American worker and making immigrants lazy, non-producing, weights on society.
I vote BUYcott Affirmative.
The Arizona law is already working, even before it is in force. Hordes of illegal foreign nationals (illegal immigrant is an oxymoron) have already left. Our problem is they erroneously think Dallas is a sanctuary city. Maybe we need Dog the Bounty Hunter to ply his trade in Texas, exclusively among thise foreign invaders?
OK, Perry-get off your duff and commit. November is coming soon...
AZ's law is simply re-stating federal law. If the feds won't enforce it, a state simply must.
They say the police can stop anyone and ask for identification;WRONG ! The law says that police can only pull someone over who is breaking a law like speeding. They cannot profile people!! GO BUYCOTT !!!
only if civil rights are VERY CLOSELY guarded. Perhaps additional protections
I didn't vote one way or the other. 'You' should know the answer to this question without asking it.

Also Mexican is not a race it is a Nationality, in Mexico there are white, Indian and black Mexicans it would be like saying American is a race thus every time they used the word American they would be racist.
We, as a People, should be allowed to protect our borders from all illegal immigrants, regardless of origin.
If you wish to be in this Country, then fllow theh proper protocal. If you do not, then you should be deported. I believe it is a slap in the face to all the great individuals who have followed the procedures and laws in place to obtain legal citizenship status.
Absolutely, we as a Tea Party, should support the Arizone BUYcott.
I only wish our great State of Texas had the nerve to pass legislation such as this. Though, I don't believe Governor Perry will ever consider it.
The liberal Supreme Court back in the 80s caused this by misinterpreting the constitution and ruling that anyone born in the U.S. is a citizen. Illegals can get pregnant in Mexico, cross the border illegally, and their offspring become U.S. citizens. We pay for the birth and then give them $12,000 a year in welfare. They are actually rewarded for breaking the law. Non-hispanic liberals love it because they get more votes.
We should all support Arizona and call Rick Perry to pass the same law.
business? I think individually we should support them but as an organization leave it alone; it will give the lefty's more racist ammunition.
That's my initial thought. I'll read what the rest of you are saying. Is It November yet?
The "problem of illegal mexicans" is actually quite ridiculous, since a Work permit could be issued to them which simultaneously would eliminate the small percentage of felons in that population. The federal government does not in my opinion have the right to create a crisis so that it can then "solve the crisis" in a way that, realistically, is against the interests of the people of US - namely, by giving them all citizenship.
They certainly deserve work visas, which another condition of should be that no babies born here get
I support a BUYcot but don't know how I will accomplish anything of significance. What AZ products or services can I buy? I guess I could promise to vacation in AZ again. That's always a pleasure and a contribution to their economy.
The most pertinent question is whether or not the TP endorses and supports the AZ law and would support similar laws in TX.
I support them and their law completely and wish our Gov. would do the same in TX. I also wish he would send AG Abbot to sue the feds for the funds needed to close our border and arrest management of companies that hire illegals.
While some citizens expend time, money, lives and resources protecting the lazy, cowardly, greedy and useless people who refuse to see the reality or participate but enjoy the rewards; I'm appalled. They don't deserve what they won't respect or fight for.
Our movement is about fiscal disciple. This is a side issue.
Now - I think WE, the INDIVIDUALS in the Tea Party movement should speak out in favor of the AZ law! We particularly need to make sure people know the truth considering the media is usually not being truthful on the subject.
What part of the financial destruction Illegals aliens wreck upon our citizens, States and Federal resources don't you understand?
This is a Fiscal issue and one of the most important issues for the Tea Party movement to act upon, not a racist issue. Let them come according to our Immigration laws. If they try any other method of entry, we need to do whatever it takes to stop them...just as Mexico and other countries do under the same circumstances.
I'm guessing you could not handle a dozen people kicking down your door and taking up residence in your home...expecting you to provide for their every need all at once? It's a very simple concept and all about Fiscal responsibility. Don't fall prey to the social engineering concept that this is anyth
Just because an issue has some fiscal consequences does not mean it is a fiscal issue.
Again - I an 100% in favor of the AZ law. I just think the only way the Tea Party should get involved is that we should spread the word of various ways to get the word out about what the law really is - as opposed to the myth the liberals are pressing. And people sharing info on any petition or counter-protest or something like that.
I support the bill, and more importantly the philosophy. I think we as a party should find it in conformity with our principles. We should support it but at the same time be prepared to criticize it's deficiencies.
J.B
shoring up our boarders. Government sees and has seen the problems caused by illegals and refuses to protect our boarding states to Mexico. They have NO backbone and can not be trusted to
protect us anymore. To boycott a
state in America shows the ignorance and stupidity of those who should be trying to guard against more crime and raping of our resources caused by the illegals who come to a country we built with blood, sweet and tears and break our laws and demoralize it. They wouldn't like if it was in their backyards and their lives
were at stake!
But we also need low skill and low wage workers for a lot of jobs, and Mexico seems willing to share their pool of such people with us.
So my main question is - why do elected Rs do all in their power to prevent the front door from being opened wider? Elected Ds do this also, but I'm less puzzled by their BS.
America was built on immigrants. It is being built on them as we speak. And it will continue to be built on them. It works great when they come in the front door. It even works when a few of them climb in through the windows. But when most of them use the windows it creates more problems than it solves.
Most of the attacks on Arizon have been predictable. Since Arizona did a pretty good job of anticipating them, the opponents have been forced to just lie about it.
Sigh.
We need to make it easier to let people come legally and tougher for them to come illegally.
As long as we push for sealing the borders without being equally vocal on making it easier for people to come legally, we will be viewed as bigots.
I think the number of work visas issued should be dependent on the unemployment rate.
Question: WHAT ARE YOU THINKING AND WHO IS COMING UP WITH THESE IDEAS? Answer: Obviously someone with a lot of free time and extra $$$.
Common sense people!!!
Texans across the state need to march in Austin and their own hometowns, not Arizona. Leaving the state to support Arizona is NOT THE ANSWER.
What are you thinking? Perry needs to get some pressure from Texans to adopt a similar law HERE! He said we don't need a bill like that in Texas. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
What makes you want to "load up in a car and drive" to Arizona, DC, Nevada? So many of us CAN NOT AFFORD the $$$ or the time off. Most have jobs, others of us have businesses to run. And, if $$$ is to be spent, it would be more wisely spent HERE in support of a bill for TEXAS.
When you load up and drive to Rally elsewhere, you are leaving behind hundreds if not thousands of us who want to stand
And I think we,individuals should write letters saying that we will visit Az over Ca thanks to the way Ca is acting over this.
I'm far more concerned with the fact that Perry (who, although in many ways a typical politician, has courted the Tea Party movement) has said we don't need such a law in Texas, and continues to defend his support for illegals attending college at in-state rates. I'm actually surprised the Tea Party is supporting Arizona here, since it so assiduously courts blacks and other minorities to prove its non-racist bona fides. This Tea Party movement is turning into a typical, classically-liberal monolith and I'm increasingly disillusioned with you all. Until you can unflinchingly reject the left's paradigms on which current society is built, and celebrate America's Western European, Christian heritage, you really represent nothing much at all.
Put troops on the borders while fencing is being built!
Remove ALL ILLEGALS !
NO anchor babies !
English, ONLY !
USA and state flags, ONLY !
NO SPP (Security and Prosperity Partnership) !
NO TTC (Trans Texas Corridor) !
NO NAFTA !
No CAFTA !
Reduce the pay for the president and congress for a job worse
than poorly done!!!
Seriously, we should support Az, they have taken a stand not only against ILLEGAL immigrants, but the regime in office. They have shown courage, and need any backing they can get!
thanx for being there..sn
2. I am a former USMC Officer and served OUR country for 7 years in the Corps..
3. I am married to a Russian woman who legally immigrated here 2years ago..we went through great trouble and expense prior to the immigration process so that she could visit the USA on tourist visas prior to our returning to the USA to live, and we paid a significant amount of money and went through alot of paperwork to get her documentation to be a LEGAL IMMIGRANT here...
4. I LEGALLY lived and worked in Russia for 10 years, having returned to our country 2 years ago...
5. I lived in El Paso for 8 years, and am grieved by the murders on the border...
With all that said:
1. If I had known I was returning to socialism I could have stayed in Russia where socialism was perfected...What happened to OUR country?
2. I owe my Russian students an apology! I taught in Russian u
TX and other states do the same.

doesn't want to help.
Arizona and Texas should pass the

we should lay low on this.
The ability to flood the electoral system with undocumented and illegal voters is their way to fight the rising power of normal citizens such as the Tea Parties.

We also need to be very alert to the fact that on a national basis, the current administration, in conjunction with the current Congress, will make every effort to enact legislation that will basically allow for open borders and paths to citizenship for all the illegal aliens who are already here (plus all their family members), The Dem
Not only is it impossible for any successful nation to survive if they allow everyone who wants to immigrate to do so without any limitations/restrictions; there is a much bigger issue in play here! Unless we can control our borders and the people who enter our country, we can not limit the drug cartels with their violent militias from entering the country, we will also be ever more in danger from other terrorists entering our country.
Also, your contention that any business should be allowed to hire everyone they want to hire from wherever they wish to hire them would totally destroy our economy. If that were the case, some of the larger corporations would simply import their entire labor force from the poverty stricken countries, which would drastically reduce their labor costs!!!
The Buycott should be neither officialy endorsed nor supported by The texas Tea Party. However, as an individual, I will, and we all should, participate in and support the BuyCott of Arizona products.
God Bless US all.
One group may choose to endorse candidates and issues, while another may choose the opposite. This is truly an example of the American right of Freedom of Choice!
If you disagree with Dallas or you choose a different policy, than simply don't participate, don't criticize.
.
Rancher Robert Krentz was murdered by the drug cartel on his ranch a month ago. I participated in a Senate hearing two weeks ago on the border violence. Here are just some of the highlights from those who testified.
.
The people who live within 60 to 80 miles of the Arizona/Mexico Border have for years been terrorized and have pleaded for help to stop the daily invasion of humans who cross their property. One Rancher testified that 300 to 1200 people a DAY come across his ranch vandalizing his property, stealing his vehicles and property, cutting down his fences, and leaving trash.
.
In the last two years he has found 17 dead bodies and two Koran
bibles. Another rancher testified that daily drugs are brought across his ranch in a military operation. A point man with a machine gun goes in front, 1/2 mile behind are the guards fully armed, 1/2 mile
one day to find that all we hold dear is gone.
